Solid Waste & Recycling Collection
Waste Management Automated Trash System FAQ’s
The Borough began a new Automated Trash and Recycling System through Waste Management in April of 2024. This change may have affected what day your trash and recycling is collected. Please refer to the Waste Management Collection Day by Street Listing for information on your pickup day. Recycling will be picked up on an alternating weekly schedule as indicated on the 2026 Collection Schedule.
The 2027 Waste Management Collection Schedule is now available!
All residents received new trash and recycling bins in early 2024. Each household will have received one 96-gallon green cart with a green lid for trash collection and one 64-gallon blue cart with a blue lid for recycling. There are both smaller and larger size options available for the trash bins, at cost to the resident. A second trash or recycling bin may be purchased, at cost to the resident, as well. For a different size or an additional bin, please contact Waste Management directly at 1-800-866-4460.
If your trash or recycling bin has been damaged by a collection truck, there is no cost to the resident for a repair or replacement. If your bin has been damaged, please contact the Borough Administration Office to coordinate a repair or replacement.
Some common questions about the new trash and recycling program, and their answers, can be found in the Trash and Recycling FAQ’s. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact the Borough Administration Office.
Holidays may affect your regular pickup schedules. If your service day falls on or after a WM-observed holiday (excluding weekends), your pickup will be delayed one day. For the latest updates on holiday schedule changes, visit the Waste Management website at www.wm.com.
